POLLINATION

The US Department of Agriculture has estimated that about 3.5 million acres of fruits, vegetables, oilseeds, and legume seed crops depend on insect pollination. Eighty percent (80%) of all crop insect pollination is accomplished by honeybees. Without the pollination services of honeybees, many of our typical foods such as apples, cucumbers, and almonds would not be available.

Hackenberg Apiaries provides full, hard working colonies of bees to many crops for pollination. Our bees travel from Florida to Maine, supplying fruit and vegetable growers needs. Hackenberg Apiaries supplies full colonies of bees to get the most from your pollination budget.

Hackenberg Apiaries does approximately 7,500 pollination rentals each year, pollinating apples, blueberries, cantaloupes, pumpkins, and cranberries, as well as other fruits and vegetables.
